Small Malaysian Order

Just bought 3 species I wanted to have (one - again) for a long time now.
  1. Ampullaria (hot lips)
  2. Viking X Raff
  3. Camapanulata (again)
  4. Freebie (viking X kuchingensis)
This is a small order that went through quite nice. Price was fair (hot lips usually cost an arm & a leg). Size was great (not the usual small sizes of those big nep nurseries online). Shipping via EMS. I didnt ask for phyto. Packaging too was great, plants arrived (after more than a week in the box) in pristine condition.

2nd Triffid Park order

I initiated a group order (group of 2) at triffid park (www.triffidpark.com.au) which started around march of this year. I was unable to get more to join the group order. I shared the order with a relatively new carnivore hobbyist. This is my second order with triffid park.

The package arrived a week ago. Why only a week ago? Well, the local paper works (import permit) took too long. It went back and forth. I'm sad to say that the Bureau of Plant Industry doesn't allow sundews (drosera) and bladderworts (utricularia) to be imported. I'm not sure if this rule is specie or genus level but every specie I specify was asked to be omitted.

Anyway my part of the order was small:
Nepenthes khasiana
Nepenthes sanguinea
VFT 'royal red'
Pinguicula mesophytica
Brocchinia reducta
Aldrovanda vesiculosa

His was much larger, a lot of VFT's and sarracenias.

Tried to get in some petiolaris complex droseras and some utricularas but as I have mentioned, it is prohibited.

I'm very poor in growing non-nepenthes carnivores. But I'm giving it another try.

Everything seems normal, the state of the VFT's were the same as the last time.

The sarracenias looked ok, but not great. They will live though.

For the plants I ordered, all looked well and are doing fine right now.

The only plant that was dissatisfying was the nepenthes he ordered. both growth tips were black. I emailed triffid park immediately about it. He too was asking if could ask them to have it replaced or refunded.

I'll post pictures soon. As well as update my website.

There is also an ongoing group order for Borneo Exotics (www.borneoexotics.com). It is still open for those who want to join in.

importing carnivores

I'm planning to import carnivores again, if ever this pushes through, this will be my third. I have previously bought from malesiana.com and triffidpark.com.au with no problem whatsoever. This time around i won't be able to cover the minimum purchase price that the vendor is requiring.

I'm thinking either borneoexotics.com or at triffidpark.com.au again.

For borneo exotics they have the widest range of nepenthes species. They require a 300US$ minimum purchase.

For triffidpark.com.au they have a big collection of carnivores and some I haven't seen being sold anywhere else. Some great stuff here are vft's, sarrs, droseras, pings, a bromeliad, aquatic carnivores and terrestrial utricularias. They also have neps but a bit more pricey. They require 150AU$ minimum purchase.

I've been trying to gather other local enthusiasts to join the group order but still I'm short of the minimum.

So if you would like to join this group order, email or text me (contact info here) what you would like to buy from the shops I mentioned above.

Nepenthes miranda

It has been a while since i've updated my website. I have new stuff: neps, pings and a carnivorous bromeliad. But i still have no time to update this site. I'll do that when I get my long awaited break from work.

I will be splitting my Nepenthes miranda and will let go of 2 pieces. This is an easy grower and pitchers really well in manila conditions as you can see. If you are interested please sms me through +63.917.812.merl

HK CP's

Hong Kong Sundews:
Drosera aliciae (top)
Drosera paradoxa (bottom)

Also got a baby vft. D. paradoxa is very nice and isn't very common. Its included in the petiolaris complex group.

Mabuhay! Welcome to the Philippines. This site is for filipinos who are also into carnivorous plants if there are any.

I started wanting a venus flytrap, but when I knew it needed winter dormancy, I looked for tropical cp's instead.

Though I grow mainly tropical pitcher plants a.k.a. nepenthes, I also have other carnivores: Sarracenias (North American Pitcher plants), Venus Flytraps and Droseras (Sundews). I grow them outdoors in my garden. I do have non-carnivores in my grow list.

  N: Nep penth eez
